Abstract

Clean water is one of the basic needs that cannot be separated from human life. Almost all human activities require clean water. Climate change and erratic rainfall are factors that influence the availability of clean water in addition to human activities. The city of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara is one of the regions of Indonesia with relatively low rainfall every year. The dense population with high activity and low rainfall is estimated to also affect the water quality in the city of Kupang. This study examines the water quality at three points in the city of Kupang during the dry season as a result of low rainfall and human activities. The water quality parameters used in this study are TSS and DO. The results showed that the levels of TSS and DO in three areas in Kupang were still within the normal threshold with TSS and DO values ​​for each region, respectively, 0 mg/L and 6.28 mg/L for Oepura springs, 15 mg/L, L and 7,25 mg/L for Sago springs and the last one is 5 mg/L and 6.44 mg/L Amnesi springs.
